"...And I , I took the path most (geocached) on at that has made all the difference."

Nature is really amazing. I drive up and down and all around what appears to be greenery. In a sea of interstates, highways, biways, condominiums, and shopping plazas one could forget that the green stuff, well its not spinach in your teeth, it's actually nature. I found out today how far an overweight , under paid, house mom can hike, walk, stop and smell the Queen's Anne's Lace. I've never been opposed to the art of geocaching; it is afterall, a good way to find some exercise and have an adventure. Today, my son and I went on a field study for our summer school science class. I started my day with what I thought would be a series of very easy hikes to and around playgrounds. What I found, was some pretty advanced hiking up rocky-rooty trails and alongside bogs and lakes. I saw my son's Wii glazed expression transform into what I believe was a human being again. His excitement to discover treasures and unseen forest glades was so intoxicating I thought I had some how turned 7yrs. old again. There I was showing my son the proper way to use gravity to roll down a freshly mowed hill. Only to remember mid hill that once you get going there is only one way to stop. Splat! That is the sound a 30yr. old makes in the woods. Hoomph! And that is the sound her 7yr. old makes landing on top of her. I relived the glory days after that. I splashed in criks, I jumped over stones and tree trunks, I squished moss between my fingers, I chased pollywogs around in the bog. I even convinced my son to stop and smell the daylilies. Admist the lilies were so many different butterflies. It was truely a rainbow to tickle the senses. We even had time to picnic. Today I'm glad I chose the path less travelled because it did make all the difference for my son.
If you too would like an adventure check out your own local geocaching sites . Just type in geocaching in your search engine. As for any locals in York, PA. Join the summer reading program and you too can join the bug hunt. Happy Hunting!

Curiosity School Of Knowledge

Well we are off to a great start! It has been one official day of summer break and I feel well organized. Just to think a few days ago I thought this day would be a deer in a headlight; it wasn't. With the summer storm came a cooler house, a better day. My office is almost completely cleaned up all thanks to the motivation of home school. August is so thrilled to be challenged with hard work that he is decorating his new school and looking for any reason to be up there. I would call that a successful start to our summer. :)

Killing the KItchen

Picture if you can:
100 degree day and 90 degree nights . Sleeping in the nude is too hot. Dripping walls and heavy humidity. I sweated off all the calories from dinner while cooking it. It's hot and to hell with the hole in the wall. To hell with a water leak I did it I took a shower. Aww and as I was drying off I began sweating again. Dear God in Heaven the polar bears will be dead this year if this keeps up. Somebody turn the sun down.
Okay *sigh* drama moment over.

I WANT TO RANT but I wont

I want so badly to complain about finacial shit, but as I know everyone is in the same boat, and I am quite sick of hearing myself complain, I will instead do something unheard of :
Thank you God for my home
Thank you God for a job
Thank you God for someone or many ones to love
Thank you God for being loved
Thank you God for leftovers and any food I have
Thank you God for laughter especially the insane kind
Thank you God for my senial old neighbor who makes me meet someone new everyday
Thank you God for a functional car
Thank you for the spare change to buy gas with
Thank you for a hard working husband
Thank you for everything I would otherwise be bitching about
Oh yea, Thank you for life

I Go Here Again

I'm walking backwards again
I can feel the loose gravel
I can sense the plunge
I need to believe in the tied shoe
I need to not look back
I'm floating between land and air
I can hover on the current
It takes me into the heaviness
I am here hung like a wet pair of jeans
I barely move to dry when the wind blows me
I'm walking backwards again

THE BLIK BITCH

Sadness seeping in again
its not even raining
I could justify the soaking
if only I could reason why?
Why, can I never be truely happy?!
Am I to suffer in my self loathing?
Am I to wander in this fog of smiles and nods?
What about the human spirit, the dreamer and lover
its as if they are on an endless path
to stubborn to stop and try something new, find a different escape
Always the same thing and in circles no less
I hate circles, they make me vomit
Sigh, I just want to vomit.
nacht.

The Impossible Lawn

mow the grass
shoe stained mass
clumps of green
fragrent scene
zig zag weaves
motor heaves
thick and lush
mowers hush
